More Obama substance!

A Concord Monitor poll shows the same weakness as last week's survey from Iowa. RCP summarizes:

Just like in Iowa, Hillary loses to Rudy and McCain but beats Romney. And just like in Iowa, Obama beats them all. Edwards doesn't run as strong in New Hampshire as in Iowa - no surprise there - but he still manages a dead heat against McCain and Giuliani and handily beats Romney. So even though Hillary is clinging to a lead at the top of the field, she's once again giving off the "unelectable" vibe in comparison to her two most serious primary challengers. [E.A.]

P.S.: In light of these poll results, doesn't Dick Morris' theory--that if Obama now doesn't run he'll have done Hillary a favor by clearing the field--have a couple of holes: 1) Obama hasn't cleared Edwards out; and 2) If Obama decides not to run early next year, and Hillary's still this weak, there will be plenty of time for new challengers to jump in.

Man Marries Dog To Lift Curse

We have all heard the 'man bites dog' stories, but how about a real-life 'man marries dog' tale! This one takes the biscuit, and it could only happen in India, the land of the Kama Sutra. But you won't find this kind of love story between man and beast in the ancient Indian sex manual.

It took place for real during a traditional hindu ceremony at a temple in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. The groom in question was a 33-year-old Indian farmer named Selvakumar, and he was wed to a female dog named Selvi. He married his four legged bitch to atone for stoning two other dogs to death and stringing them up in a tree 15 years ago.

He believed the act cursed him and he had been suffering ever since, he told the Hindustan Times. After he stoned the dogs he said his legs and hands got paralysed, he lost hearing in one ear, and his speech was impaired.

The Biggest Bathhouse on the Internet?

Last night, the population of Korea watched me have a threesome. I couldnt see my audience, but I knew it was there: quiet, probably wide-eyed. These spectators sat and stared while my newfound playmatestwo bisexual menpressed me up against a bedroom dresser and gave it to me hard. When we moved our mnage trois to the bed, where we wrapped around each other like sweaty circus performers, they barely even spoke. Every so often one of them would blurt out an incomprehensible crybut who could tell if that was the garbled howl of voyeuristic pleasure, or just one of our onlookers passing out on his keyboard?

Of course, when I say I was having a threesome, I mean I was role-playing sex with two (ostensible) men on the internet. And by Korea, I mean we were getting it on in front of all thirty-some members of the AdultFriendFinder.com chat room Korea.

I can't imagine he was so busy out of the playoffs that he couldn't take a second to sign it. He may have used it as rolling paper. Who knows. But the point is, respect was lost and he is officially mentioned in the Bat Guano entry. Good luck Travis. Next up...............................The New England Patriots. I hate to mention the team as a whole, so let me be more specific. Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and Randy Moss. Let me start by saying that I was born in Salem Massachusettes. I was a Patriots fan as a child and I have always supported them right behind the Chiefs now that I am an adult. But I must say regrettably, it will be hard for me to do that from now on. Let's start: Tom Brady - Before the SuperBowl started Eli Manning approached Tom Brady to shake his hand and wish him luck.

Recession Watch: Inflation Rears Its Head

Although it appears that the U.S. economy started the year disappointingly sluggish, it is too soon to declare that it is in recession. In fact, real gross domestic product is still expected to grow 3.3% over the four quarters of 2008, which means that any shortfall in first-quarter growth will be offset by stronger growth over the remainder of the year. With the substantial amount of monetary stimulus from the Federal Reserve already in place and the $168 billion of fiscal stimulus expected to be in place by midyear, a rebound in economic growth in 2008 seems very reasonable. If the economy is not in recession, then already intense inflationary pressures never subside, putting the survival of the expansion at risk.

For over a year, I have argued that a recession was coming and that it probably would start in 2009 at the earliest.

Part 3 of CNN Democratic presidential debate

Let's let Senator Clinton respond, and then Senator Obama.

CLINTON: Well, I respect John's commitment to ending poverty. That's why, 35 years ago, when I graduated from law school, I didn't go to work for a law firm. I went to work for Marian Wright Edelman at the Children's Defense Fund, because ending poverty -- particularly ending poverty for children, has been the central core cause of everything that I've been doing for 35 years.

I care deeply about what for me is a mission and it does infuse everything that I do and why I'm in public office and why before I was in public service, chairing the Legal Services Corporation so that people got free legal aid when they would otherwise be put out of the courthouse, standing up time and time again for health care and education for abused and neglected kids and kids in the foster care system.

My view: End of angst-ridden, college admissions process nears for ...

I accepted the acronyms — SAT, ACT, FAFSA — and stowed them away, to be digested later.

Meanwhile, amid the haziness, something was taking form. From the recesses it rose, like an omnipresent friend that I could not shake. It was this figure — known to my friends and me simply as "college" — that would follow me through my final years of high school, that would come to haunt my every move.

The college admissions process is a vortex that engulfs the young adult and, to an extent, touches almost everyone involved in his or her life. In other words, no one escapes unscathed.

At 16, I already knew that parents and procrastination created a deadly combo. Now add 10 schools, 10 deadlines and over 10 essays to the mixture, and you have concocted a potentially lethal brew.

The process brings parents face to face with the nemesis they were born to slay.

Obama's victories draw more voter groups as Democrats waver

A fuzzy, misguided guy from Texas has already wasted 8 years and squandered precious resources of the country. Now US is in a crisis. He was elected by default, at least in 2000.

Isn't it time to think very carefully before you cast your vote ?

JAY-Z AND MARY J. BLIGE CD?

I know how true this is, but the source is pretty good! I heard that Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z might be in talks to do an album. Basically, this is a concept album in the same spirit as Jay-Z's Best of Both Worlds with R. Kelly. Mary and Jay have worked together in the past for years and years. I think it could be a good deal.

Not long ago, Boston had one of the worst farm systems in baseball. From 2002 through 2004, a total of just five of its players were rated among the top 100 prospects by Baseball America.

This year's ranking is drastically different: seven of the top 100, including Ellsbury at 13 and Lowrie at 73.

"I think if we are able to add a (minor league) player a year to the major league team we would be extremely fortunate as an organization," Mike Hazen, Boston's director of player development, said in an e-mail to The Associated Press. "With all the pitfalls of minor league baseball and the inherent roadblocks that exist, while it sounds easy, I don't think in actuality it is.

"I think if Jed continues to progress like he did in 2007, he will have an opportunity at some point to impact our major league club."

Lowrie hit .297 in 93 games at Double-A Portland then .300 in 40 games at Triple-A Pawtucket.
